Description

Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield “The Abridged Works of Shakespeare”

(Director Linas Jurkštas)

Luck is a strange concept, but today, without a doubt, you are as lucky as ever. You have a unique and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the complete works of one of the Renaissance’s most enigmatic geniuses, William Shakespeare, on a single theatre stage... in just one and a half hours! We don’t have much time, so instead of long, meaningful silences that follow rhetorical questions, instead of a large cast, costumes and spectacular scenery from centuries gone by, the performance will involve a fast pace, only three actors, a nonsensical atmosphere and improvisation.

The play “The Abridged Works of Shakespeare” is based on the world-famous play “Reduced Shakespeare Company” which reveals the prevailing canons of interpretation of the author, allows us to question our knowledge and to approach it all with some humour. The improvisational comedy is presented for the first time on the Lithuanian theatre stage by the masters of absurdist humour and artistic charades – director Linas Jurkštas and actors Danas Kamarauskas, Jurgis Marčėnas, and Gabrielius Zapalskis.
